So, it has once again been an embarrassingly long time since I’ve posted anything, but I’m still making “stuff.” While working for “the man” means I have more money to afford things I need to make “stuff” it also means I have less time to make the “stuff.” I’m working now on a few print items…and a new website. So…maybe they’ll debut at the same time…? In the meantime…even if no one out there is reading I’ll be posting some random stuff I do as proof that I still make stuff.

BUY A T-SHIRT!(sharif.etsy.com) I’ve introduced my first T-shirt to the world. So far the response has been good. Thanks everyone who’s gotten one so far! As for those of you who haven’t - whats the hold? The T-shirts are now available to the public via my etsy(sharif.etsy.com) shop. If this design does well, I’ll be putting out another one by the end of the year. I’ve already got requests for shirts based on designs seen all over my site - but the demand really has to be there before I proceed. Sooo, if you have an opinion on which design should be next to be made into a shirt post a comment and let me know!
In other June news: So, the show at Fast Frames has been postponed a little. They’re restructuring how they show artists work there. I’m still on board to show there sometime before the end of the year with an eye on the summer time - but we’ll see.
Yet in OTHER June news: I’ve been asked to participate in a campaign produced by The Greater Philadelphia Tourism and Marketing Corporation ((GPTMC)www.gophila.com) having to witht he revitalization of Philadelphia neighborhoods through the arts. I don’t have all the details yet and I don’t want to say too much about it just yet. I’ll be sure to post here as things develop.

.16.07: I’ve been asked to provide 250 photos for each of the guests in attendance at the Philadelphia Public Relations Associations (PPRA) Hall of Fame Luncheon. There will be 3 different photos totalling 250. Each will be a limited print relating to the idea of “Bridging Bridges,” this year’s luncheon theme. I’m excited and honored that I’ve been asked to participate in this event, especially because the person being inducted into the hall of fame, David Brown, is someone who I admire. Thanks to the people over at BrownPartners (www.brownpartnersmm.com) and the PPRA (www.ppra.net) for keeping me in mind and allowing me to be a part of the event.
So, its been an embarrassingly long time since I’ve updated this part. So here goes…
Last Week
I entered 3 photos into the June Fete in Abington PA. One of my photos (Paris Riots) took first place. You can check that photo out in my photography section.
May
.19.07: I’ll be participating in the Trenton Avenue of the Arts Festival. It’s sponsored by my friends over at EKNA (www.ekna.org) and The New Kensington Community Development Center (www.nkcdc.org). You can read about the event at either of those sites. Or you could just come here on May 19th, 2007.
June
.01.07: Some of my photos will be featured as the months consignment work at the Fast Frames store on 13th and Walnut in Philly.
October
.20 & .21 only: I’ll be participating in the Philadelphia Open Studio Tours, A.K.A POST. This will be the second year I’m participating and I’m excited. You can read more about POST here:www.philaopenstudios.com. Also, NKCDC is working with POST people and PhillyCarShare to bring “The Loop” for the area that I am in. The Loop offers people pick-up and drop-off points for those interested in touring multiple artists’ studios in the 19125 area. Sweet, right? Keep your eyes peeled around the city for more info.
Finally…here it is. After countless cntrl + x and cntrl + v and ftping, the new site is finally done ———–I think. It’s at least to the point where its manageable and I can show people. Ah, yes, that brings me to this next point…moving this entire site from one directory to the main directory. I don’t think I’ll ever do that again if I can help it. I had to actually copy, change, delete and relocate my entire database which holds every single piece of information for this page. It doesnt seem like a lot, but it is!
Anyway, today is a lovely day out, but job-hunting will see me sitting here for a little while longer before I get to go out and play.
P.S - is this the sort of thing people talk about in blogs? I’m still not entirely sure I get why people keep blogs.
I’m doing a bad thing. I’m promoting this page to my main index without all of its functionality. Yeah - I know - I’m bad, but I’m doing it anyway. Why? Well, because it’s time! The only thing missing are the links for all the “here” pages. If you click around, you’ll see. These pages are just meant to offer more details about the projects under which they appear. So when I’m done making them all, I’ll upload them, they’ll work and then you won’t think I’m bad anymore. Yay! In the meantime, while coming up with the new page, I designed a few new logos. I was thinking about one logo for this site and another for my photosite. I ended up liking the top most design - obviously - what do you think?

So here we are…derezzz.com version 9.298432674. I’ve redesigned this page a million times in the last 2 years or so. Of course none of them ever feel…complete. This one is no different, but I sure do like it! I hope u do too!
